NEW YORK CITY WATERFALLS CRUISES
...Aboard the Private Motor Yacht "URBAN DESIRE"
JUNE 26 - OCT 13, 2008
The New York City Waterfalls, a major new work of public art by internationally acclaimed artist Olafur Eliasson, will be on view in New York's East River from late June through mid-October 2008. Commissioned by Public Art Fund, the project consists of four monumental, 90 to 120 foot tall man-made waterfalls temporarily installed at sites along the waterfront in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Governors Island... one on the Brooklyn anchorage of the Brooklyn Bridge, one between Piers 4 and 5 below the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, one in Lower Manhattan at Pier 35 north of the Manhattan Bridge, and one on the north shore of Governors Island.
Olafur Eliasson originally scouted for The NYC Waterfalls exhibition from the decks of our Private Motor Yacht URBAN DESIRE
When the artist and his team went to search for the best sites to realize the vision, they boarded the "Urban Desire" with veteran film Location Manager/Captain Steven Knee at the helm... who is also a charter member of the presitigious Location Manager's Association, ALSAM. www.alsam.net
Circumnavigating Manhattan Island, we cruised past the Columbia Wall, Harlem River and it's many bridges, Hell's Gate with NY Finest's "Marine 3", Randall's and Roosevelt Islands, to Brooklyn, the Midtown and Downtown skylines, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island... looking for just the right spots to erect this amazing display.
What a better place to have up-close views of the spectacular Waterfalls... than the yacht the artist himself had envisioned them from?
Imagine this breathtaking backdrop to your private cruise in New York Harbor!
New York City by Private Yacht... MAGICAL.
The majestic skyline shining by day or sparkling by night always takes your breath away. Glide quitely past the Statue of Libery at sunset, then head to the Waterfalls. Time to open the champagne!
Making it an intimate private cruise on the URBAN DESIRE with a few special people is a guarantee for memories you will cherish forever.
Make it a special event
Sure, you can hop on a public boat for a short excursion with other sightseers and tourists... but you want something special. Birthday, Anniversary, or Pop the Question... then the champagne!
Because of their proximity to one another, viewers will be able to see multiple Waterfalls from various vantage points along the waterway.
